Participant Eligibility

Our retreat is open to individuals aged 21 and above. We wholeheartedly welcome people from all walks of life, embracing diversity and celebrating the unique identities and experiences that each person brings. Our commitment to inclusivity extends to people of all genders, sexual orientation, races, religious beliefs, spiritual practices, philosophical or ideological stance, backgrounds, and beyond.

Code of Conduct

We expect all clients to uphold a code of conduct that promotes mutual respect, open communication, and a supportive community environment. Disruptive or harmful behavior will not be tolerated.

Confidentiality Policy

Your privacy and confidentiality are paramount to us. All personal information shared during sessions or interactions with staff and fellow participants will be kept strictly confidential, in accordance with professional ethics and legal requirements.

Health and Safety

Participants must disclose any relevant medical conditions or dietary restrictions to ensure their safety during the retreat. We also have safety protocols in place for outdoor activities and excursions.

Consent Forms

Before starting the retreat you will be required to provide informed consent. This ensures that you understand the purpose, risks, and benefits involved in each activity.

Professional Boundaries

Our staff maintain clear and professional boundaries with participants at all times. We do not engage in dual roles that may compromise the therapeutic process.

Ethical Guidelines

We adhere to the ethical standards set forth by Costa Rican’s Official Board of Psychologist. We also comply with all psychology licensing.

Deposit Amount

a. Upon booking your retreat, we require a deposit of 50% of the total cost to secure your reservation.

b. The remaining 50% of the total retreat cost must be paid no later than 59 days prior to the start date of the retreat.

Payment Method

a. Deposits can be made using a valid credit card or other accepted payment methods through our secure online booking system.

b. We accept major credit cards, bank transfers, and other convenient payment options.

Confirmation of Reservation

a. Your reservation will be considered confirmed upon receipt of the initial 50% deposit.

b. A confirmation email will be sent to you once the deposit payment has been successfully processed.

Final Payment Reminder

a. A reminder will be sent to you 65 days prior to the start date of the retreat, prompting you to complete the final payment of the remaining 50% balance.

b. Failure to submit the final payment by the specified deadline may result in the cancellation of your reservation, and applicable cancellation fees may apply.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

At BZTH, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that necessitate changes to your retreat plans. We strive to be fair and transparent in our cancellation and refund policies while also ensuring the sustainability of our operations and the quality of our services.

Please review the following policy carefully before booking your retreat:

    1. If you cancel your retreat reservation more than 60 days prior to the start date of the retreat, you will be eligible for a full refund of any payments made, minus a non-refundable administrative fee of 10% of the total retreat cost.
    2. Cancellations made between 30 and 60 days prior to the start date of the retreat will receive a 50% refund of any payments made, minus the non-refundable administrative fee of 10%.
    3. Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the start date of the retreat are not eligible for a refund.

Cancellation by BZTH:

    1. In the unlikely event that BZTH must cancel the retreat due to unforeseen circumstances, such as natural disasters, inclement weather, or other unavoidable situations, participants will receive a full refund of any payments made.
    2. BZTH is not responsible for any additional expenses incurred by participants, such as travel arrangements or accommodations, in the event of retreat cancellation.

Refund Process:

    1. Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving a cancellation request in writing.
    2. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the reservation, unless otherwise requested by the participant.

Transfer of Reservation:

    1. Participants may transfer their reservation to another individual at no additional cost, provided that they notify BZTH in writing at least 14 days prior to the start date of the retreat.
    2. The new participant must meet all eligibility requirements and agree to abide by the terms and conditions of the retreat.

Partial Attendance:

    1. Participants who arrive late or leave the retreat early for any reason are not eligible for a refund or reimbursement for any missed activities or accommodations.

Force Majeure:

    1. BZTH shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under this policy if such failure or delay is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of war, terrorism, pandemics, government regulations, natural disasters, or transportation disruptions.

Environmental Responsibility

As stewards of the environment, we are committed to promoting eco-friendly practices throughout our retreat. We encourage recycling, waste reduction, and conservation efforts to minimize our ecological footprint.

We respect and honor the rich cultural heritage of Costa Rica. We ask that all participants embrace cultural sensitivity and behave respectfully towards the local community and customs.

Complaints and Grievances

If you have any concerns or complaints during your retreat, please don't hesitate to bring them to our attention. We have a formal procedure in place for addressing grievances in a fair and timely manner.

Insurance Coverage

We require all participants to have adequate travel and health insurance coverage for the duration of the retreat. This ensures that you are protected in case of medical emergencies or trip cancellations.

Legal Compliance

We comply with all applicable laws and regulations in Costa Rica, including obtaining necessary permits and licenses for conducting retreat activities.

What outcomes can I expect from attending a therapy retreat?

Expected outcomes vary but can include improved mental and emotional clarity, reduced stress, enhanced well-being, new coping strategies, and a sense of renewal. Personal growth and healing are common goals.

What if I need continued support after the retreat?

We offer aftercare programs such as MasterClass. Another post-retreat resource is private therapy Zoom sessions.

What is the difference between a therapy retreat and going to therapy?

A therapy retreat is an intensive, immersive experience spanning several days, offering focused, holist and eclectic treatments in a serene and curated environment. Traditional therapy involves regular, ongoing sessions over a longer period, providing consistent support and gradual progress.

Is Costa Rica safe?

Costa Rica is generally safe with a stable government and well-developed tourism infrastructure. Petty crime exists, so standard travel precautions are advised, but violent crime is rare.
